At 16 years old, Jamilla got scouted via "Hyves" social media platform. Even before that, many scouts showed interest in her, but Jamilla did not yet see herself as a model. Then, after she finished school, her friends advised her that now was the perfect time to give it a chance. And from then on, everything took its course very quickly!
Since then, Jamilla has done shoots for magazines like Harper's Bazaar, Elle and Vogue, and jobs for brands like Dior, Balenciaga and Alexander McQueen.
Jamilla's favourite shoots, however, are those where she stays in one place with a team for several days, so there is less time pressure, and the whole team can enjoy dinners together in the evening. Jamilla especially likes it when everyone stays together in the same house.
Besides modelling, Jamilla loves to cook. She loves to prepare mostly vegan dishes in her kitchen. Besides that, Jamilla has been making necklaces for her friends, herself and her dogs for some time now.
Most of all, Jamilla loves to spend time with her family and friends, her boyfriend, and her two dogs, with whom she loves to go for walks.
